HALL

Hoping to rebound

Hall's Lady Warriors struggled last season, winning only two games with a young squad.

Coach Selita Farr said those young players have matured.

"I do see some positives that we will be a lot better than we were last year," said Farr, whose team opens the Ladies Hardwood Jam Showcase with a home game against Little Rock McClellan. "I have some young ladies who are working hard every day in practice. They are listening. I can see they will be competitive this year. The chemistry is a lot better. It's the same girls but they've gotten a lot better."

Farr is starting her 16th year as the Lady Warriors' head coach.

Farr said the key to Hall's season is how well her juniors -- 5-6 forward Alexis Burns, 5-2 guard Monique Elliott, 5-7 forward Chelsie Luckett and 5-6 guard Elexis Lofland -- perform.

"Those juniors are in a mode to where they don't want to lose," Farr said. "They're determined to make this a successful season."
